The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has directed the Tribal Products Development and Marketing Federation (TRIFED) to purchase all the forest produce of the Tribal’s in view of the crisis of Corona epidemic. Center gave instructions to state governments in Jaipur. According to the ministry, a large part of tribal society is on forest produce for their livelihood. Some of the characteristic tribes from Rajasthan are Bhil Tribe, Meena Tribe, Garasias Tribe, Bishnois, Gadulia Lohars, Tadvi Bhil.
In view of the crisis of Corona epidemic, tribal society is not able to sell forest produce. For this, instructions have been issued to states to purchase forest produce. After this, tribals will buy trifed items left with farmers, craftsmen and artists. With this decision of the government, there will be an additional distribution of about 23 crores in the tribal society. To help the tribal’s, TRIFED is contacting corporate companies, industry organizations, NGOs and other social organizations and encouraging them to buy tribal produce and forest produce. Aboriginal products can be used in day-to-day needs, besides decorating, gifting and enhancing immunity.
