Chandigarh, April 17, 2018: In a bid to provide High Definition(HD) quality voice and data services to its customers, Vodafone, one of the largest telecommunication services providers, a part of its pan India plan, on Wednesday announced to roll-out its Voice over LTE(VoLTE) services in Punjab, thus becoming the first to do so in the state.
Speaking on the occasion Arvind Nevatia, Business Head- Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir of Vodafone India said “before coming to Punjab we have launched VoLTE in over ten telecom circles. In Punjab we are the first GSM service provider to launch the services enabling our over five million customers across the state to make call using VoLTE and enjoy HD quality crystal clear voice with super call connect for no additional charges“.
He said the Vodafone VoLTE services were recently launched in Maharashtra and Mumbai Metro , Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh(East & West), Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and Goa and will be extended across the country in a phased manner over the next few months.
To a question he disclosed ‘the company as a leading telecom operator in Punjab has been making a significant investment to expand, upgrade network and to deploy new technologies so as to ensure finest service to its valued customers. Of the total of over Rs 2700 crore investment made so far in the state, nearly Rs 122 crore were invested to upgrade our hardware and software in the last financial year, he informed.
