Mumbai, Mar 31, 2015:WorkHorse , a start-up that offershome-centric service providers and one stop solution for various home-centric services, today announced the launch of its unique mobile application WorkHorse which allows users to call a help with one press on their smart phones. This app is the first of its kind in India and among the first ones in Asia in its category. The app is currently available for Android phones. The iPhone version will be launched next month and the Blackberry version in two months from now.

With this application, customers can book a help like maid, driver, electrician, beautician, cleaner, carpenter, pest controletc and get their instant confirmation. Once confirmed, they can track tasker’s movement towards them with a one-touch interface on their smart phones. Registered users can also maintain a credit balance with WorkHorse and use the service through the app as and when needed, without having to pay for the service. App also allows customer to schedule the visit for a time convenient to them through a “need latter” button.

The application directly addresses the on-the-ground uncertainties that most household face in India. It is also a boon for new people moving into a new city looking for different kind of services ranging from maids to drivers, electricians to cleaners all under one umbrella. By providing direct interface between the customer and the service providers and ensuring the quality of service providers, this app eliminates the ambiguity of not knowing where and who the tasker is, or how long he/she will take to reach the destination and provides greater control and real time information at the customer’s disposal. With the built in GPS system and location sharing, the app also ensures that a customer does not waste valuable time speaking to the customer care or the tasker multiple times to provide directions. The tasker reaches the service location on his own.

This app also provides a boost to the business for semi-skilled and skilled workforce as they are able to get customers faster through efficient management of location and service time due to technologies like GPS and real-time demand estimation. Incidentally, taskers will also be managed through an android phone that acts as a device for tracking them and help them generate invoice.

According to Kamalendu Singh, Business Head atWorkHorse, “We are very excited to be the first in India to be able to offer all these services through a mobile app. This app is a rare instance of technology innovation that directly impacts all stake holders in an offline industry and with its sheer simplicity has the potential to be a game changer in the largely unorganized home-based service industry in India. ”.

“The consumer of these services in India has had to suffer uncertainties at every step and deserves a better experience. The app is a significant step in that direction and provides the customer with a clear and transparent view of the service he or she has availed from us through real time information sharing”, he added.

Currently WorkHorse is test launching its services in Mumbai and will be launching in Delhi in a month. By the end of the year, they plan to offer services in 5 cities across India and the app will be available from day one of the launch, in each of these cities. Apart from the app, the customers will continue to have the option of booking their services through phone or online. CCI Newswire
