New Delhi, October 19, 2017: Continuing its success streak while strengthening its smartphone offerings, itel Mobile, has registered an exceptional growth Quarter on Quarter; emerging as the 2nd Largest Mobile Phone Brand in India, according to the CMR Q2 2017 report. The brand also witnessed growth of 293% in the smartphone category during the latest quarter. This has played a major role in driving the overall market share of the second largest mobile phone player up from 9% in the January-March quarter to 12.42% in Q2.

Launched in April 2016, itel Mobile is a part of Transsion Holdings conglomerate. With just over a year old, the brand has received a very positive customer response for its value-added offerings across geographies, leading to exceptional sales volume. This has enabled the brand to quickly climb into the highest echelons of the mobile phone segment in India. The brand has further received a fillip with the recent launch of Carlcare, a global exclusive after-sales service brand by Transsion Holdings, with an exclusive COCO Center in Noida, along with 13 state-level spare part warehouses in India.

itel’s rise has been supported by product and consumer focus through in-house state-of-the-art R&D and manufacturing capabilities, focussed especially at the Indian mobile phone market. Its unmatched brand proposition is supported by industry first service proposition and innovative marketing approach.

Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, itel & Spice Devices said, “After having achieved this significant milestone, we will be looking to raise the bar even higher in the future, with more customer-centric products and services that meet the end-to-end requirements of the country’s consumers.”

“We’re aiming for a major disruption in the Indian smartphone space with our innovative offerings, and the response that our smartphone portfolio has received so far is extremely promising. We will build on this encouraging reception to further strengthen our presence in the category and emerge as the 4G digital enabler through our array of 4G smartphones,” added Mr. Kumar.
