New Delhi, June 13, 2015 : The All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) on behalf of Jewellery community in India has handed over a cheque of INR 1.23 crore towards relief works of the Nepal earthquake victims. Mr. Manish Jain, Chairman of GJF handed over the cheque to Shri. Amit Shah, BJP President in New Delhi on 11 June, 2015.
Appreciating the donations offered by several members to GJF, Mr Jain, said, “the domestic gem and jewelery makers came together and collected the money in aid of the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. The gem and jewellery industry has always remained at the forefront in supporting various charitable and humane causes. The Nepal tragedy is undoubtedly one of the worst in the history of civilization and we applaud the Government’s efforts for its proactive measures in extending aid to the people of Nepal. The industry’s contribution is a humble effort to support the Government in this humanitarian cause”.
