A small tete-a-tete with Kunal Singhal, the Managing Director at Eazy DMS reveals the ever-changing landscape of the Indian retail sector.

  • The SME Times :Please tell us about Eazy DMS

Kunal: The Indian retail industry has been witnessing a ripple of waves especially after the global pandemic. The manufacturer to the consumer in the supply chain had been looking for an end-to-end solution as there were certain bottlenecks that the distributors faced in maintaining the secondary sales data using the Tally-Busy software. The Eazy DMS was launched in 2014-15 to provide a one-stop solution to the manufacturers, distributors and in 2020 to the retailers, with real time monitoring of the transactions made and stock inventory. This software enabled multi brand billing, timely product delivery and easy accessibility in offline mode for a web based portal too. This enabled the distributors and the stockists to focus more on generating sales to reap higher profit margin, rather than being involved in tedious manual task of maintaining the sales records.

  • The SME Times: How will Hybrid Eazy DMS empower distributors and retailers to enhance their competitive edge in the ever-changing economic landscape?

Kunal: Earlier, different portals were used for multiple brands which entailed duplication of work and lack of transparency in the entire supply chain. The sales data for the retailers and the rural market was missing due to poor internet connectivity and lack of computers. So the Hybrid Easy DMS, an extension of the Eazy DMS, was launched in tier-3 and tier-4 cities to provide an integrated Tally-Busy mechanism, offline-online access, web presence with a mobile app.

In the current scenario post COVID-19, distributors could not reach the retailers for taking orders and product delivery. Keeping the sustainability factor in mind, the Hybrid Eazy DMS was instrumental in creating an entire ecosystem whereby the end-to-end supply chain could be managed even at the retailer level for stock, order, inventory and payments, especially for the unorganized sector.

We are also working on means to tackle the financial implications, while addressing the lack of liquidity with both the distributors and the retailers. Additionally, we are targeting the logistic service providers like DUNZO, Delhivery to get connected in this ecosystem to facilitate a smoother execution of the entire supply chain using the Hybrid DMS. Connecting the consumer to the retailer is the next milestone that we are currently targeting to achieve.

  • The SME Times:What are the key technological trends mapping the latest supply chain advancements?

Kunal: Supply chain management has taken an innovative and sophisticated direction due to advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, big data, automation and 4G, which has created a retail revolution. In current times, innovative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain and Machine Learning have been leveraged to increase the efficiency of the SMEs supply chains.AI has been successful in automating supply chain processes like manufacturing planning, demand estimating and analytical maintenance. Technological intervention from advanced analytics have helped in streamlining the entire operations from procuring the raw materials to delivery of the final product. Web based and app based technological evolution has helped in achieving excellence in connecting the entire retail landscape.

  • The SME Times:What is the importance of Data and Automation in Sales Post COVIDera?

Kunal: Though we had been witnessing a radical change in the implementation of supply chain management with technological intervention, the post COVID era witnessed few challenges from both the distributor’s and retailer’s perspective as there was scarcity of goods due to intercity and intra-city travel, while storage facilities were inadequate.

Co-existence of a digital wave illustrates the relationships among all the important entities of an end-to-end supply chain like goods, consumers, markets, warehouses, distribution centers, plants, payments, attributes and weather, by creating an end-to-end visibility while synchronizing with the real supply chain. Better efficiency and transparency in the entire supply chain is maintained while keeping a track of the order, stocks and inventory management.  Advanced analytics combined with real time tracking and automation is critical to estimate the market demand and supply in 2020. Distributors have been able to extract the real time order volumes and values, inventories, sales data, which will make the distribution process easier, faster and less tedious.

Data monitoring and automation has been inevitable to bring about a huge reduction in man-hours required for sourcing, monitoring, packaging and shipment of goods, which in turn has been helpful in reducing operational costs of SMEs to reap better profits, thereby facilitating a better decision making.

  • The SME Times:Why isEazy DMS considered one of the tools of choice for any future-minded business and an essential component of growth in the field?

Kunal:The Indian and the global retail landscape is very dynamic and is booming with new entrants every alternative day. Technological intervention in managing the supply chain effectively is mandatory for any distributor and the retailer to have sustenance in a highly competitive market. Optimization is the need of the hour especially in post COVID times, thus the rising demand for Eazy DMS. We have been offering the all-in-one platform in the form of Eazy DMS to solve their crucial needs by downloading and installing this mobile app. We understand the essence of business hours for a distributor or a retailer, wherein they should be devoting their time in generating business rather than in maintaining the book of records, the master mind behind the launch of this software. The Eazy DMS with its recent version of the Hybrid DMS is indeed a very lucrative tool for any new or existing business and its growth.
