 – ASM Group of Institutes, Pune had organised a two days annual mega event the MINDSCAPE 2013 Case Study competition on the 19th and 20 th in Pimpri , Pune.

The event received a thumping response from major industries not only from Pune but also from Aurangabad, Nasik and Mumbai.

Mindscape 2013 celebrated its tenth episode this year and has established many fresh records in its scope and spread this year.

This event is a very unique Industry Institute Interactive opportunity where case studies on business developed by the faculty of the Institute are offered to several competing industry executive teams for presenting analysis and resolution before an audience of faculty and students of the ASM Group. This is also an exclusively student centric event; planned, organized and executed entirely by only the students of ASM Group of Institutes. For the first time, Mindscape 2013 in view of the tremendous response it received from Industry, teams had to be spread out over two days instead of the one day event it was. More than 30 teams from major industries from Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, and Satara had sent in their entries for the competition. ASM group also had responded befittingly for the tenth episode of Mindscape. Fourteen Case Studies (a record in itself) on contemporary business issues were made available including two live case studies from CETYS University in Mexico. The competition on both days was so intense that it ran nonstop for 9 to 10 hours to jam-packed audience on both the days. In fact, ASM found that it had for the first time expressed its inability to accommodate all the entries into the competition round. The students and faculty of ASM Group of Institutes had a real feast of enriched knowledge on Issue analysis and resolution techniques as presented by each of the competing industry teams on both the days. The grand finale of the competition was organized on the 20th from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM with 15 industry teams vying for the three coveted Trophies awarded in the competition viz The Mindscape 2013 Trophy, The Special Jury Case Study Trophy & the newly introduced Live Case Study Trophy.

The Event was inaugurated in a highly charged competitive environment in the ASM’s Auditorium on October 2013 by Mr Deepak Wagh, Senior Director, Projects Whirlpool of India, Ranjangaon, Pune. In his inaugural address, Mr Deepak Wagh appreciated the relentless efforts put in by ASM faculty and students, and the progress made by ASM in improving the quality of case studies and efforts put in to attract major industries from in and around Pune in to the Mindscape Case Study competition which he said perhaps is the best way to not only teach Industry issues to the students but also enticing the Industry experts to look for the Mindscape Competition as equally great opportunity to interact with the Students and Faculty of the ASM Group of Institutes. Mr Wagh advised the students and faculty to derive maximum advantage of the opportunity which the Mindscape competition offers through its rich content of contemporary decision making process in the Industrial environment of intense global competition and challenging employability issues asking for appropriate skill levels in the students of Business Management Studies. The Inaugural event was also addressed by Dr Sandeep Pachpande, the Chairman of ASM Group of Institutes urging the students and faculty of ASM Group to leave no stone unturned in achieving excellent leadership and team management skills and learn from the rich presentations made during the competition. He expressed his desire that the event Mindscape Case Study competition has grown up enough to expand its coverage by planning to conduct its events simultaneously in different major cities such as Mumbai, Aurangabad and Nasik. This he pleaded will not only enhance the quality and reach of Mindscape to many more Industries in these locations besides improving employability career prospects for the students of ASM group.

Dr Asha Pachpande, the founder secretary of ASM Group while declaring the completion open advised the students for their fulltime focused attention towards gaining knowledge through experiential learning opportunity which the Mindscape event brings to the door steps of ASM Group. The Entire competition was adjudged by learned juries from Industry and Academia, while the intensity and richness in analytical skills and the strategies put forth by competing industry teams was not only mindboggling but also enhanced the competitive challenge to fellow participants to newer levels. In a glittering finale the Prize distribution ceremony of MINDSCAPE-2013 was organized in the evening with Mr Gurupratap Boprai, CEO, FIAT, Ranjangaon, Pune gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. In his keynote address Mr Gurupratap expressed his heartfelt appreciation to ASM Group of Institutes and its students in putting together such an intense and interesting competition such as MINDSCAPE-2013 which brings real issues of business for comprehensive analysis and appropriate resolution offered by the participating industry teams. He advised the students and faculty to take best advantage of such unique opportunities which are not available to many others. Mr Boparai further advised the students should have consistency and credibility in their leadership skill building exercise and climb the career ladder with adequate patience and determination. M/S Tata Motors Ltd, Pimpri team were declared the ‘Winners’ of the Mindscape 2013 Trophy with Siemens Ltd., Nasik claiming the Runners-up Trophy. M/S FIAT Ranjangaon Team led by its dynamic leader Mr Pankaj Pradeep clinched the Special Jury Trophy. The Team from Endurance Technologies Ltd., Aurangabad gave very tough fight to bag the ‘Runners-up’ Trophy for the Special Jury Case Study. It was interesting and enlightening to note that ASM’s Alumni team (participating for the first time) led by Mr Sunny Chandel challenged the senior teams from other industries by ‘Winning’ the Live Case Study Trophy, blessed by none other than its own faculty Team from ASM Group led by the dynamic leader Prof Roopa Praveen in securing a tie up score with the Alumni team, were graciously content with the Runners-up trophy for the Live Case Study. Prof J. A. Kulkarni conveyed vote of thanks and cajoled the students to rise up for new levels of performance required for future editions of Mindscape Competition.
