2 Key initiatives in health Industry Declared

Rs. 1200 Crore allocated for 1.5 Lakh Wellbeing and Health Centres

The Government today announced two big initiatives in health industry , as a part of Ayushman Bharat programme. The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitely while introducing the General Budget 2018-19 at Parliament here now said this was aimed toward creating path busting interventions to deal with health, in main, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both prevention and wellness promotion.

Beneath this 1.5 lakh centers will bring healthcare system closer to the houses of individuals. These centers will offer comprehensive health care, such as for non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health care services. These centers will also give free essential medications and diagnostic solutions. Contribution of private business via CSR and philanthropic associations in embracing these centers can also be envisaged.

(ii) National Health Protection Scheme:- The next flagship programme beneath Ayushman Bharat is currently National Health Protection Scheme, that will insure over 10 crore weak and vulnerable households (roughly 50 crore beneficiaries) supplying protection upto 5 lakh rupees per household annually for secondary and tertiary care coverage. This is going to be the world’s biggest government financed healthcare programme. Adequate funds will be given for smooth execution of the programme.

The Finance Minister further explained, both of these health industry initiatives beneath Ayushman Bharat Programme will construct a New India 2022 and guarantee improved productivity, wellbeing and prevent wage reduction and impoverishment. These Schemes will even create lakhs of jobs, especially for girls.

The Finance Minister stated, that to be able to further improve access to quality medical education and health care, 24 brand new Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals will be put up, by up-grading present district hospitals in the nation. This will guarantee that there’s 1 Medical College for each 3 Parliamentary Constituencies and at least 1 Government Medical College in every State of the nation.
