Canon promotes photography culture with student enthusiasts

New Delhi, May 20, 2016: Recognizing and fostering the potential of students in India, Canon as the leader in digital imaging in India, provides a unique platform to students to showcase their skills and learn the latest techniques in photography. Canon takes pride in encouraging photography amongst students and teachers and also encourages young people to discover the joys of photography through its association with a number of schools and other educational institutions in the country.

Canon today conducted a photography event called DIGEX 2016 at Delhi Public School at R.K Puram, one of the prominent schools in the city. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Andrew Koh, Vice President – Consumer Imaging & Information Centre, Canon India. The event included a series of photography workshops, organized by industry photography experts. Intriguing sessions were arranged specifically for students which consisted of basic tips and techniques on photography as well as theme based concepts on photography. In addition to this, few theme based photo contests was also organized where entries were invited from various schools. This is the second year of this event and this year we have observed a higher level of participation and a growing interest and excitement in the school children.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Andrew Koh, Vice President of Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India said, “It is always exciting to engage with students and listen to their unique perspective on photography. The festival this year witnessed overwhelming responses with over 50 schools, 400 students and 80 teachers from reputed schools in Delhi/NCR region. Canon India created an exciting demo zones that showcased some of its latest offerings. Participants were also encouraged to experience Canon’s printing options at the Click and Print stall and get hands on experience of Canon cameras and printers. Contest winners were awarded with Canon EOS 1300D camera, IXUS cameras and Pixma printers along with Canon goodie bags, while all student participants were given a certificate in association with Canon India.
