What: David Carberry’s ‘Underground’

Event Brief: Originating from the tiny Victorian town of Yackandandah, David began to dance, acrobatics and music at the age of eight before being accepted into the prestigious performing arts institution Flying Fruit Fly Circus School at the age of ten. David is also an original member of Briefs , has performed as a member of the Tom Tom Crew and was a co-creator and performer in Cantina before founding Company 2 in 2012. Starring breathtaking acrobatic skills, a stunning and poetic circus the atre piece ‘Underground’ is a fusion of movement and live music, set to an original score featuring a typewriter, glass bottles, sand, and other interesting and unusual instruments. The piece is an abstract journey through the layers of human desire and motives: a look at what lies beneath, at what drives us, in the search for truth. It’s a reflection on the quirky, humorous and sometimes mysterious nature of the human disposition to always question.
The play is going to held in SRFTI (Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute), Big Studio, Calcutta. So, don’t forget to be a part of this wonderful show.
