Bangalore, June 22, 2019: Greenwood High joined rest of the world and rolled out their yoga mats to celebrate the 5th International Yoga Day with enthusiasm at its Sarjapur road campus today. Since this day was close to Fathers Day, parents were also invited along with their children to take part in the celebration. Around 3000 students and teachers took part in this event. More than 400 parents also joined the celebrations.

The main purpose of the event was to inculcate yoga not only among kids but to pass it to the older generation as well. The Yoga sessions were conducted by Dhyan Foundation, a spiritual and charitable organisation committed to the cause of spreading awareness about the authentic path of yoga. This event was also associated with fathers spending quality time with their children and the best father- child duo performances in yogas and games were awarded.

“In this busy schedule at work, most of us are becoming “Weekend Daddy’s”. I am thankful to Greenwood High for giving such opportunities to elevate the bonding with kids. Anaya & I had so much fun doing yoga together on this day at school. Such initiatives by Greenwood is highly welcome, said a parent Abhijeet Sinha.

“We have been following the practice of Yoga in our school curriculum from past few years and give it the same importance like any other subject. We wanted to leverage this day to take the benefits of yoga to all students again & salute the vastness of yoga. We also wish to thank all parents in extending their full cooperation in making the celebrations a grand success”, said Ms. Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High.
