BANGALORE, APRIL 4:
The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) has announced that it will host the ‘2013 Academy of International Business (AIB) India Chapter annual conference’ from April 15 to 17.
The conference will focus on the theme ‘International Business: The Emerging Economies Context’.
The three-day conference is expected to bring scholars from multiple disciplines and countries together to understand and examine international business in the context of emerging economies. International business scholars, students, and representatives from seven countries are expected to attend the conference.
S. Raghunath, AIB India Chapter chairperson and Dean of IIMB, said, “We strongly believe that the conference will help in encouraging collaborative research, networking and exchange of knowledge among scholars. The conference will bring together the work of leading scholars from the emerging economies to present multidisciplinary research including perspectives from a range of the functional areas of management studies.”
Torben Pedersen, AIB Fellow and co-editor of Global Strategy Management and Advances in International Management, is the inaugural keynote speaker.
He is also the Review Board member of Strategic Management Journal and International Business Review and also serves on numerous editorial boards.
Elizabeth Rose, vice-president, Academy of International Business (AIB); John Dineen, president and CEO, Global GE Healthcare; and Milind Kamat, executive vice-president & CEO, Atos India, will be the plenary speakers.
The conference will also feature papers examining institutional approaches capturing perspectives from emerging economies, business strategy presentations and panels by executives about company strategies for emerging markets and comparative institutional analysis taking into account structural changes in global capitalism.
