New Delhi, February 17, 2019: Valentine’s day or Saint Valentine’s day is celebrated across the world on 14th February. It is a celebration of love, perhaps in remembrance of Saint Valentine of Rome, who performed weddings of imprisoned soldiers, which were prohibited under the empire. He was executed in 278 AD. There are other theories about it’s origin too.

The celebration first became popular in the West, but now with the advent  of social media, it has spread to other parts of the world as well. It is celebrated with lovers professing love for each other by means of cards, gifts and spending time together.

As with everything else, it has not escaped the commercialisation, with services for valentine’s day being advertised heavily to attract mostly young customers. These include services like evening events, dinner and dance etc., which are popular among all ages.

Women do all they can to look their best for their husbands or partners on this important day. Getting new clothes, jewellery and make up, to get the perfect photographs for sharing on social media.

Dr. Anup Dhir, Senior Consultant Cosmetic Surgeon at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi says that people even plan cosmetic surgery procedures around valentines day. The popular procedures are rhinoplasty and facelift, as these improve the facial profile for better photographs. Facial rejuvenation procedures like chemical peels, PRP therapy, botox injections and fat transfer are the non surgical procedures that are increasingly in demand.

Women either plan these procedures themselves in preparation for valentines day, or these procedures are even gifted by their husbands or boy friends, who want their women to look their best.

It is important for people planning these procedures to take the healing time in to account. So consult with your cosmetic surgeon well in advance so he can guide you about the best time to get the procedure done.

With this, you can look beautiful and radiant to please your loved ones and to be remembered for many years to come.
