New Delhi, January 20, 2023: The Pioneer of pop art on canvas, Surita tandon is an established young popular Pop art artist of India. In the show POPSICLES She plays with a range of acrylic and mixed media, different media including sand, metal, crystals and beads. Her POPART canvases are larger than life and holds a kaleidoscope of colours.
The cutting edge of this show will be the use of wicker and Coke bottle installations in the frames of all her artworks. This collection is influenced by the elements of Pop art found in the busy lanes of Cuba, Brazil, Miami, New York and Barcelona. She will be presenting 22 artworks which range from big canvas’s to smaller ones to cater to the aesthetics of the community.
She was born in Calcutta, graduated from Loreto College and Masters in Mass communication, New Delhi. She has done a number of group shows and has held solo shows. Surita’s major achievement is the recognition of her art by Shri Narender modi ji, where her India Shining painting was personally received by him and now is in the PMO. She has now come up with a new artwork, called INDIA TODAY.
