GSK honors Sanner of China as outstanding supplier

Kunshan, August 24, 2017: Sanner of China has been awarded with the GSK Zero Defect Award 2016, achieving an overall OTIF score of 100% for five million pieces. The jury honored Sanner as “a supplier who performs extraordinarily in quality.”

By awarding Sanner Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging Materials (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. with the Zero Defect Award, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) China recognized Sanner’s outstanding performance in 2016 regarding quality. Sanner of China delivered five million sets of packaging materials to GSK during the last year without a single quality complaint. Furthermore, Sanner is the only GSK supplier out of a total of 150 with an OTIF level of 100%. “Behind these numbers, this supplier made every effort on continuous improvement in quality, training and production,” the jury underlined its decision.

On-site quality control for high-end products “This award again proves the continuously high quality we maintain at our production site here in Kunshan,” says Ralf Tiemann, Managing Director Sanner Kunshan China. Sanner of China carries out permanent on-site quality controls based on a six-step process. It includes incoming inspections of raw materials and supplier audits, followed by in-process quality control of the entire manufacturing process and full traceability. Regular process parameter controls ensure stable product quality, and each batch undergoes a customer-specific Operational Quality Control (OQC) before delivery. “Together with internal audits and daily analysis meetings, we ensure that every single product we deliver to our customers conforms 100 percent to their specifications, GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements,” Tiemann underlines.

Expanding clean room capacities During the past years, Sanner has invested significantly in the production site in Kunshan. Since February 2017, 200 additional square meters of production space are available at the site. However, Sanner does not rest on its laurels: “The past years’ successful business results and our excellent future prospects in Asia will require continuous capacity expansions over the coming years,” says Ralf Tiemann. Upon completion of the second construction phase, the company will be able to produce in 2,700 square meters of cleanroom space.
