Paris, October 08, 2019: Meero, the international start-up with a mission to help photographers devote themselves and their time entirely to their passion, has appointed Sumit Jasoria as General Manager of its new office in Bangalore. This new establishment is in line with the company’s global expansion strategy and its desire to confirm its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Meero is one of the fastest companies in Europe when it comes to Digital content and serves leading global companies for all their image content. The company has just raised $230M to continue its mission of boosting the creativity and freedom of photographers. This is done by guaranteeing them additional revenue, tools to simplify the daily tasks of the job as well as inspire them and help them develop as professionals, and an expanding creative community that already holds monthly meetups in 35 different countries. Meero also plans to announce a panel of solutions for photographers’ daily work, as well as masterclasses, documentaries, meetings with other photographers, a magazine in several languages, and the creation of a foundation to support photography. These and many more projects will be launched by Meero to focus on the mission which has driven the startup since its creation.
Finally, these funds will allow it to perfect its automatic photo editing and content enrichment technology – editing being a time-consuming and tedious job for the majority of photographers. The “tech” team, currently 80 employees strong, plans to grow to 300 by the end of next year.
Sumit Jasoria has taken over the management of the Bangalore office and it’s 100 employees. This emerging-markets expert has more than 10 years of experience and was previously Regional Managing Director of Daraz, a marketplace operating in South Asia acquired by Alibaba in May 2018. Over the past 18 months, Sumit accompanied companies in their digital transformation before joining Meero to support the development of the APAC startup ecosystem.
The start-up, already present in Singapore and Japan, where it works with many local and international companies, plans to reinforce its relationships with its regional employees and partners. India due to the growing digital ecosystem remains a strong focus for Meero for its operations outside Europe and America.
This Bangalore team is expected to increase to 200 people by early 2020 and the company is on a hiring spree for couple of leadership roles in India. To apply for these new positions, click here!
