Mumbai, December 29, 2018: A Mumbai-based motorcyclist Debashissh Ghosh, who undertook 68,000 kms long motor cycle tour across five continents and brought laurels to India, will now be proceeding on 9 day tour of South Africa, on invitation of Kevin Richardson, known as “The Lion Whisperer”. Kevin, a self-taught zookeeper has begun a campaign to save lions and create awareness among people. Debasshish intends to spread the message to save lions through his motor bike ride. Debasshish, who has already began preparations for the South Africa tour, says that it is a proud moment for him that Kevin found him fit for his campaign. This program will be held in South Africa on 20 February, 2019.
Debasshish, who began from India, with BMW G S Adventure motorcycle, undertook tour of 34 countries traversing 68,000 kms in 9 months and concluded his tour in India setting a new record. No wonder that he hit the headlines. Debasshish had done a systematic planning for two years for this whirlwind tour. It included the study of route, climatic conditions of different continents, visa preparations etc.
While reacting to his achievement, Debasshish Ghosh says that “What pains me is that the concept of motor cycling tour is not famous in India therefore, people will take time to understand this, whereas it is very popular in abroad. The motor cycling enlivens people and that is the reason the people in large number participate in the motor cycling events in foreign countries.”
