New Delhi, April 24, 2018: Vihaan Networks Limited (VNL), India’s leading telecom equipment and solution provider, launched a range of cost-effective, indigenously designed, developed and manufactured (IDDM), end-to-end communications and ISR solutions for the armed forces at the recently concluded DefExpo India 2018 held in Chennai.
The mega-exhibition witnessed participation from over 670 defence firms, including 154 foreign manufacturers, showcasing arms, ammunition and military equipment.
Inaugurating the event, Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasised the need for indigenization of defence manufacturing, to turn India into a manufacturing hub for defence.
Aligned with the PM’s vision of ‘innovation’ and ‘Make in India’, VNL has been developing secure communication and ISR systems that epitomize next generation, yet cost-effective, force multipliers for Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and Homeland Security.
Tactical defence increasingly requires transmission of Voice, Video & Data at high speeds. VNL’s LTE solutions can facilitate last mile connectivity for Voice, Video & Data over high speed wireless IP (data rate up to 200 Mbps) along with enhanced security between multiple remote locations. The equipment, which can withstand temperatures ranging from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, can also be deployed for rapid emergency response in hard-to-reach areas.
VNL’s Smart ISR and Camp and Perimeter Multilayered Protection solution comprises sensors, lasers, electro-optic (EO), and RADAR equipment that work together to provide early warning systems for detecting covert and overt intrusion and infiltration.
VNL solutions are easy-to-install, and can self-configure, self-connect, self-heal and self-optimize. Other key features include mobility management, solar sustainability and extensive battery backup which are critical during tactical surveillance operations like counter-insurgency operations and rescue missions.
Introducing the products at DefExpo, VNL Founder Chairman Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra said, “Our mission is to provide cost-effective solutions for Communication & ISR requirements to the problems identified by the armed forces.”
“Considering the continual reports of intrusion attempts at our borders, aiding our armed forces with technologically-advanced, end-to-end security solutions has never been more relevant. As technology providers, we are committed to assisting our armed forces and security agencies in executing security operations as effectively as possible using indigenous technology,” Mr. Mehrotra added
