Bangalore, April 12, 2019: MVJ College of Engineering conducts an annual inter collegiate cultural fest, Swayam – 2k19, a platform for students of Engineering colleges across Karnataka and other states to prove their excellence in extracurricular activities.
By providing a stage to showcase their talents, the fest creates an unparalleled buzz of activity amongst the students in the final weeks of the term, driving them to reach their full artistic potential in an engaging environment. It is, hence, one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the College circuit.
This year, ‘Swayam-2k19’ will be held on 12th and 13th April, 2019.
Swayam is a cultural fest, and we are organizing around 23 events that inspire students to participate in theatre, music, dance, literature, drawing, street play etc. to bring in an attitude of sportsmanship and teamwork. The enthusiasm of the students led to the birth of this cultural fest, making it better and bigger by the year. The inauguration of the event is scheduled on 12th April, 2019 at 09.30 AM. The Chief Guests of the Inaugural functions are Mr Vinay Rai, a well-known face on the silver screen and Dr Suma Sudhindra, a reputed veena exponent.
The Cultural fest boasts of over 1200 students from 50 colleges around the state competing to display and prove their excellence in extra-curricular activities. Swayam has previously featured performances by popular artistes and bands, including Synapse, Parikrama, Swaratma, Euphoria, Bombay Vikings and All the Fat Children. This year, Raghu Dixit band will be performing on the second day of the event.
